The Concept of Samkya Wisdom in the Essay Bhagavad-Gita

The essay Bhagavad-Gita tells about the archer Arjuna who is facing a moral dilemma: if he does not struggle, he will not achieve the duty of his warrior position, and if he struggles, the bad consequences will come from this decision into many other parts of society. The main character is trapped between his duty as a warrior and to his brother to take part in the civil war and the love he has to his fellow citizens.

Krishna who is piloting Arjuna’s chariot, makes attempts to convince the archer to take part in the battle, grounded on three ideas: Bhakti, Samkya Wsdom and Karma Yoga. Krishna advances arguments in favor of Arjuna’s participation in the war. The first argument Krsna applied to make an attempt and convince Arjuna is the idea of Sakya Wisdom. The dialog begins with Krishna attempting to shame the archer out of his feelings of woe at the loss of the loved people. Krishna says that wise people do not sorrow over those who are dead as well over those who live. He says that Arjuna should not be afraid of his own death and death of anybody else on the battle field for in reality nothing and nobody dies or is born, we can only exist. Krishna says that there was never such time when he was not, nor Arjuna, nor will ever come the time when he and others will stop being. Consequently, according to Krishna’s views, there is no difference between dieing now in the civil war or some time later in a less brutal and violent manner. If all the warriors have always been and will continue to exist so irrespective of the fate of their physical bodies, the consequences Arjuna worried about, of the death of his family and friends, are being laid away.
